Standards Compliance. So what does that mean?
Standards compliance is following the coding standards outlined by W3C. This involved proper coding, not using proprietary elements, and focus on accessibility. It doesn’t seem that many Nashville Web Designers market themselves at compliant designers. One huge issue is that many customers are clueless of web standards the the benefit it brings them.
The primary reason for HTML standards compliance is to be sure that sites use only those elements and structures that are likely to be understood by the widest range of user agents (browsers). Coding with web standards in mind, will help keep your site backwards compatible, but at the same time keep forward compatibility in mind. The design/coding of you site will not date as quickly as a site designed using 5 year old coding techniques. The truth is, the world of web design has changed drastically over the past few years, and many basic and intermediate designers did not move forward.
